The Secrets Funk Band

Since, 1997, the band has continued to please crowds with a soulful mix of funk, blues, jazz and Motown. The band features JAMES HOLMES on drums and lead vocals, RODRICK SIMMONS on the keyboards, KENNY SHIDER on bass and vocals, Charleston legend, BOBBY SIMMONS on lead guitar and vocals, and AISHA "ALMIGHTY ISIS" SMITH on lead vocals.

 

Band members of Secrets have each owned their own success in sharing the stage with well-known recording artists such as Joss Stone, Mary J Blige and Raphael Saddiq. The band has performed at dozens of weddings and private parties over the years making many clients' events a huge success. They perform regularly on Charleston's club scene satisfying all the funk fans in the area. The band's major influences include James Brown, Earth Wind and Fire, Grand Funk Rail Road, Marvin Gaye, Cameo, Jonathan Butler, Jimi Hendrix, Donny Hathaway, Parliament Funkadelic and many more.
